Challenge
With continued growth and a strong sales forecast, the Swimwear Retailer decided it was time to reevaluate its fulfillment operation and the location of its distribution center. After an extensive network analysis, we narrowed the search to Southern Ohio.
Solution
With the facility location finalized, we began the process of analyzing both historical and forecasted sales activity. Throughout the process, our engineering team developed cost-effective solutions using time studies, labor utilization reports, and most models. After a few months of analytical work, the Master Plan was finalized and the two teams went to work implementing Phase 1 of the material handling solution.

Result
Shortly after commissioning the system, the Swimwear Retailer began the transition from its current fulfillment center into the new distribution center. While the physical move occurred over several months, the operation team was able to make the transition seamless to their customers. After a few short months of operation, the team was able to process higher volumes with one-third of its previous fulfillment team. With the master plan finalized, SwimOutlet is well-positioned to implement future phases supporting its ongoing success.
